The Maltese Islands from the water

Malta - Kayaking Caves, cliffs and hidden coves

A growing collection of kayak routes around Malta, Gozo and Comino, tracing sea caves, limestone arches, quiet bays and offshore islands. Route maps, practical notes, photographs and stories from the coast.

My Malta by kayak

The coastline looks different from sea level.

Malta's cliffs hide far more than you can see from the road.

Sea caves open beneath limestone headlands, arches frame blue water and tiny beaches appear between stretches of rock. These are the routes that let me explore the islands slowly from the water, with the route details, conditions and small discoveries that make each paddle worth sharing.

Choose the route for the conditions.

Check wind, swell and local marine conditions before launching. Malta's coast can become exposed quickly, especially beneath cliffs and around headlands. Carry water, sun protection and appropriate safety equipment, and always leave yourself a safe way back.
