Chile begins at the ragged southern edge of the continent, where Patagonia demands endurance, attention and a willingness to keep moving through whatever weather arrives.
Then the map changes completely. Glacial valleys give way to the Atacama’s salt, altitude and volcanic horizons before Santiago closes both the country and the eight-month Latin American journey. This chapter is less a single destination than a final compression of everything the road has taught me.
