HST Year 1
A familiar department.
A different perspective.
HST Year 1 opens the next chapter of my training in emergency medicine. The surroundings may be familiar, but the expectations, responsibilities and questions continue to change.
I’m still living this part of the story. These pages will follow the shifts, the lessons and the life beyond the hospital, one entry at a time.
One year. An unfolding story.
The first year of higher specialist training, told as it happens. The entries appear here as they’re published, starting with the earliest.
The first entry is still to come.
I’m still finding the words for this new chapter. When the first story is ready, you’ll find it here.
The journal couldn’t open just now.
The entries are temporarily unavailable. Please try again in a moment.
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.Marcel ProustÀ la Recherche du Temps Perdu
This one is still being written.
Diary of an Emergency Doc is a work in progress. I’m still living the first of its four years, so the complete journal is not available to buy yet.
While these pages take shape, you can read my other published journals - the stories from medical school, the early years as a doctor and the journeys that brought me here.
I’m still busy living it.
And writing about it.
There are more shifts to work, lessons to learn and pages to fill. While I get on with that, you can return to my previous journals or head outside and explore Malta with me.
