Diary of an Emergency Doc follows my four years as a Higher Specialist Trainee in emergency medicine, beginning in 2026.
After Basic Specialist Training comes another beginning: greater responsibility, harder decisions and learning to become someone others can turn to when the department gets difficult. The shifts continue, but the view from inside them is changing.
I’m currently an HST 1, writing as I go. This journal follows the cases that stay with me, the people I learn from and the ongoing effort to grow as a doctor while keeping a life beyond the hospital.
