I got up before anybody else, a smile stretching from ear to ear. I sat out on the porch enjoying a cup of coffee and a cigarette, still in disbelief over how surreal it all felt. I was sipping coffee on a private island!
We’d be leaving in a few hours, sure, but I felt as if I had gotten the full experience. I was actually kinda glad I’d be leaving – I didn’t want anything to mar this incredible memory. Kinda like when you have a great first date and then they tell you they support Trump on the second. Like this, it’d remain a wonderful memory and that’s it. From collecting coconuts to treasure hunting, from spearfishing to long heart-to-heart sessions, it was truly a perfect day!
Back at Underwater Vision, everyone seemed too hungover or too groggy. I’d be joining their ranks and, for once, I had no plans whatsoever. I had a smoothie and spent the entire morning and afternoon in bed with Snoop (our dorm’s cat) writing.
Come evening time, I headed for a swim – with Honey the demon-dog jumping right above me, effectively scratching my entire back. It’s usually cute when she does it to someone else, but this time round, it was just infuriating. Almost as much as Fleur yelling constantly at Ziggy to come back or to stop barking or to sit down or to stop chewing shoes or to stop doing whatever it is he tends to do. But hey, it wouldn’t be Underwater Vision without any of that!
Just as an FYI, Demi Lovato still hasn’t replied to my story.
